400 kilometers of signposted hiking trails lead walkers and alpine professionals through the idyllic mountain region in the Glemmtal. Whether on one of the numerous guided tours or on your own – in the alpine summer paradise every day becomes a mountain experience.
Demanding mountain tours such as the seven-hour mountain hike on the Geißstein or the 3-peak tour with ascent of the Hochkogel, Hochsaalbachkogel and the Medalkogel make a hiking holiday in Saalbach Hinterglemm an unforgettable adventure. Less difficult hiking excursions such as the Spielberg Runde or the Gerstreit Rundweg offer an alpine panorama in a class of its own.
If you want to take it easy in between or want to shorten one or the other longer tour, you can comfortably ascend with one of four mountain railways. The Reiterkogelbahn , the Kohlmaisgipfelbahn , the Schattberg X-press and the Zwölferkogelbahn are also in operation in summer. Directly at the summit station of the Reiterkogelbahn there is, for example, the medicinal herb and alpine flower trail to discover.
